Frequently Asked Questions

Is Image Pixelator really free to use?

Yes, it's completely free with no registration required.

What image formats does Image Pixelator support?

It accepts common formats your browser can open, such as JPG, PNG, and WebP. The output is always a PNG file.

Is my image data secure and private?

Yes, all processing happens locally in your browser — your image is never uploaded to a server.

Can I pixelate only a specific area, like a face?

No, the effect is applied uniformly across the whole image — there's no selection tool for pixelating a specific region.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use a larger pixel size for stronger privacy protection on sensitive details, and a smaller size for a subtler mosaic look.
  • Since the effect applies to the whole image, crop out just the area you want obscured first if you don't want the rest pixelated.
  • Try a couple of pixel sizes on a copy of your image to find the right balance between privacy and visibility.
  • Pixelate one image at a time — there's no batch processing option.
