About AI Translator
AI Translator translates text you paste into one of 10 target languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian. You do not pick the source language: the model reads it from the text itself. It uses OpenAI's GPT-4o mini through our server and returns only the translation, which you can copy or download as translation.txt. It works on plain text, up to 8,000 characters per request; to translate a PDF file, use Translate PDF. Machine translation can miss nuance, so have contracts and other important documents checked by a fluent speaker.
How to translate text with AI

- 3Click "Translate"; the button reads "Translating…" until the result is ready.
- 4Copy the text under "Result" with "Copy", or click "Download" to get translation.txt.

Where your text is translated
Translation does not happen in your browser: your text and the chosen language are sent to our server, which passes them to OpenAI's GPT-4o mini, and the translation comes back to the page. We keep no copy of either text, in an account or on our server.
Frequently asked questions
Which target languages are offered?
10: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian. Any other target is refused by the server. The text you paste may be in another language; the model reads it and writes the translation in the one you picked.
Do I need to say what language my text is in?
No. There is no source-language setting, and the page does not display a detected language. The model reads your text as it is and writes the translation in the language chosen in the list.
How long a text can I translate at once?
8,000 characters in the source text. The translation is capped at 1,000 tokens, so a long passage can come back incomplete; translate long texts a few paragraphs at a time and check the end of each result.
Can I translate a PDF or a Word file here?
No, this page takes pasted text only. For a PDF, use Translate PDF, which works from the PDF file itself. For a Word document, copy its text and paste it into the box above.
Tips and tricks
- ✓Check names, figures, and dates in the result against your original: they should come through unchanged.
- ✓To spot a change in meaning, translate the result back into the original language and compare the two versions.
