About Resize Image
Resize Image changes the pixel size of a picture. By pixels, you type a width or a height and, with Keep proportions on (the default), the other side follows so nothing is stretched. By percentage, one click picks 25, 50, or 75% smaller. Do not enlarge, also on by default, stops a small image from being blown up. The result keeps the original format, or you can save it as JPG, PNG, or WebP and set the quality for JPG and WebP. An animated GIF stays animated, every frame resized; a still GIF, BMP, and other formats are saved as PNG. One image per run, resized in your browser.
How to resize an image
- 1Click the upload box and choose the image; its size in pixels and its weight appear under it.
- 2Choose "By pixels" and type a "Width (px)" or "Height (px)", or choose "By percentage" and pick how much smaller (25, 50, or 75%).
- 3Optionally set "Save as" and "Quality".
- 4Click "Resize", check the new size and weight, then click "Download".
Formats and limits

- JPG, PNG, and WebP keep their format by default, and an animated GIF stays animated; a still GIF, BMP, AVIF, and other images are saved as PNG, with a note

- 32,767 pixels per side and 268 MP in total

- At most 16,383 pixels on either side
Where your image is processed
The picture is redrawn at its new size by this page in your browser, and it is not sent to a server, Safari included for WebP. The resized file waits in the tab until you download it. If resizing fails with a message, we are sent that message once cleaned, the tool's name, and which browser and version you used.
Frequently asked questions
Will my image be stretched?
No, not by default: "Keep proportions" is checked, so typing a new width recalculates the height from the original ratio, and the reverse. Uncheck it only if you want another shape; the image is then squeezed to the size you type.
Can it make an image bigger?
Yes, in "By pixels" mode once you uncheck "Do not enlarge if the image is smaller". Enlarging only spreads the existing pixels and adds no detail; AI Image Upscaler is the tool that rebuilds detail.
Does it keep my format?
Yes, by default: a JPG stays JPG, a PNG stays PNG with its transparency, a WebP stays WebP, Safari included. An animated GIF stays an animated GIF, every frame resized. A still GIF and other formats become PNG, with a note. "Save as" can also convert to JPG, where transparent areas turn white.
Does resizing make the file smaller?
Yes, usually, when you shrink the picture, because there are fewer pixels to store; the new weight is shown before you download. For a JPG or WebP, lowering "Quality" makes it lighter still.
