About Sign PDF
Sign PDF places your signature on a PDF as a picture. Draw it with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting font, or upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP photo or scan, with the white paper removed by default. A drawn or typed signature is cropped to its ink on a transparent background, while an uploaded image keeps its background unless "Remove white background" is checked. It keeps its proportions and goes on the last, first, every, or a numbered page, in a corner or where you drag it on a page preview. It is an image, not a certificate-based digital signature. PDF.js shows the page preview and pdf-lib stamps the signature, both on your device.
How to sign a PDF
- 1Choose the PDF to sign.
- 2Click "Draw", "Type", or "Upload image" and create your signature; "Clear signature" starts over.
- 3Choose the page under "Page", and under "Position" pick a corner or "Where I drag it on the page" to place it on a preview.
- 4Click "Add signature to PDF", then "Download" to save signed.pdf.

Where your file is processed
Your drawing, typed name, or signature photo and the PDF are combined by pdf-lib in this browser tab, and none of them is sent to us. The handwriting font is served by this site, not loaded from Google. A PDF that needs a password to open is refused when you choose it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
No. It places a picture of your signature on the page, with no certificate, identity check, or tamper seal. Check what your document requires: a contract that calls for a certified digital signature needs a dedicated signing service.
Can I put the signature in an exact spot?
Yes. Choose "Where I drag it on the page" under Position. The chosen page appears; drag the signature box where it belongs and resize it with its round handle, or use the arrow keys and + or −. With Every page, the same spot is used on each page.
Can I upload a photo of my handwritten signature?
Yes. Choose Upload image and pick a PNG, JPG, or WebP file. Remove white background is checked by default, so light paper becomes transparent and only the ink is kept; a dark pen on white paper gives the cleanest result.
Will the signature hide the text under it?
Yes, under the ink. For a drawn or typed signature, or an upload with Remove white background checked, the background around the strokes is transparent and text there stays visible, but a stroke across a word covers it. An upload with that option unchecked covers everything under its rectangle.
